Expansion of our work

AS far as expansion of our work is concerned, we started with one clinic, with the passage of time we are increasing the numbers and also improving the facilities. In fact, we have the human resources a lot, but unfortunately we do not have the finances. We have a complete feasibility of a big hospital, but we require funding.

We have a team of volunteers- from doctors to volunteer blood donors. All of them are committed to these clinics and looking forward for the upcoming projects.

We have plans to open up a big hospital with all medical facilities in Tando Jaam. Where we can provide medical treatment for all kinds of patients including Cancer and Major diseases. Approximately one in every 9 Pakistani women is likely to suffer from breast cancer which is one of the highest incidence rates in Asia.

According to official date, there are 127,859 doctors and 12,804 health facilities in the country to cater for over 170 million people. There are 85 physicians for every 100,000 persons in Pakistan. Or in other words, one doctor for 1,225 People. If we compare with Canada there are 62,000 doctors in Canada. The latest Vital Statistics in Canada places the population at just over 33,000,000. If 60,000 doctors are practicing that gives a ratio of 1 to 600 patients which is half of the patients in Pakistan.

Maternal health problems are also widespread, complicated in part by frequent births most of which take place at home under untrained supervision. Hence it is not very surprising to see 297 deaths for every 100,000 live births. Probability of dying under five per 1000 is 97.

Probability of dying between 15 and 60 years m/f per 1000 population is 194 out of 218. If we compare with Canada the probability of dying under five is only 6 out of 1000 live births. Probability of dying between 15 and 60 years per 1000 population is 55 out of 89. Total expenditure on health per capita is $3,672 in Canada as opposed to $51 in Pakistan. Total Expenditure on health as a percent of GDP is 2.0 in Pakistan. In Canada total expenditure on health as a perentage of GDP is 10.0.

Our organization will be focusing on Maternal and Child health. We are working on and doing Fundraising to establish a maternity home and an x-ray lab in Tando Jaam.
