More than 20 million people have been affected in Pakistan, by the worst flooding in the country's 83-year history. More than 1,600 people have died from the flood waters alone. Thousands of rural communities have been evacuated as more heavy rains continue to deepen the flood crisis. Pakistan’s Sindh province is bracing for a second round of heavy flooding, as authorities claim that water has unexpectedly begun to rise at the Kotri Barrage along the Indus River is Southern Sindh, and now threaten to overrun the embankments around the barrage. Flooding has caused damage to the Sindh Province where all of our clinics are located. The Pakistan Government has established some 600 tents for the flood victims; however this has proven to be insufficient, as one can see families and individuals living on the streets trying to building primitive shelters and asking for food and drinking water. We have an urgent need of shelters tents plastic sheeting and household goods- along with food and clean drinking water. In addition, the cramped and unhygienic conditions, combined with food shortages and intense heat, raise the specter of potentially fatal disease out breaks, such as cholera the most common diseases are gastroenteritis, malaria, skin and eye disease, fever, allergies, and depression. Immediate health services are needed for the victims, especially women and children.

PLANNED ACTIVITIES: •

-To set up 60 mobile camps to be managed by two Field Teams (Doctor, LHV, and Attendant) on a daily basis in the target areas.

- Provide health services including Emergency Treatment Provide necessary medical assistance and child and maternal support for the women of target communities.

-Awareness raising initiatives on health hygiene and the use of water purification tablets, which will impact survivors to drink clean water and to avoid water borne diseases.

-Provide hygiene kits to impacted families.

Make your water pure with the Sun’s UV Rays.

The free UV rays of the sun can provide clean drinking water for life.

A hard surface and clear bottles are all that is needed to change filthy water from deadly and undrinkable to pure, safe, and life altering. Contaminated water is poured into clear plastic bottles and then left in the sun. Once one full sunny day or two full cloudy days have passed, the cleansed water is ready and safe to consume.

Please pass this message along...
